Children and teens directly educated through The RAISE Project
Children who receive comprehensive prevention education are 42% more likely to recognize grooming behaviors and report unsafe situations
Why RAISE
We believe that prevention is the most powerful form of protection. While most programs stop at awareness, The RAISE Project goes further. Our youth deserve more than warnings; they deserve real tools to recognize challenges, respond with confidence, and rise into their full potential. That’s exactly what RAISE delivers.

If They're Brave Enough to Speak Up, Are We Prepared to Listen and Protect?
What is The RAISE Project, who created it, and why?
TAARA is a nonprofit dedicated to preventing the exploitation of children and teens through education and digital safety.
We work across the U.S. and India to equip young people with the tools to stay safe and thrive.
The RAISE Project is TAARA’s prevention-first education program designed to protect teens in today’s hyper-connected world.
What topics does it cover, and how is it implemented across different age groups?
The RAISE Project covers topics like safe and unsafe touch, healthy boundaries, digital safety, peer pressure, grooming, sextortion, and self-advocacy. Lessons are age-appropriate and trauma-informed, with content tailored for early childhood through high school.
For younger children, the program uses stories and songs to teach body safety and trusted adults. Elementary students learn through interactive lessons and animations. Middle schoolers explore emotional regulation, online risks, and peer influence, while high schoolers engage in real-world scenarios around digital exploitation and coercion. With new apps emerging every day that can facilitate exploitation, TAARA continually updates the curriculum to reflect real-time threats—teaching students how to navigate them safely and reduce risk.
RAISE can be delivered through assemblies, workshops, or clubs, and includes resources for students, educators, and caregivers.
Why are there separate versions for elementary, middle, and high school students?
Children and teens face different challenges at each stage of development. RAISE is designed to meet students where they are—using age-appropriate language, examples, and activities to ensure the content is both relevant and impactful. Younger students focus on basic safety, boundaries, and trusted adults, while older students explore more complex topics like online grooming, sextortion, and healthy relationships. This approach ensures students build skills gradually and feel empowered, not overwhelmed.

What impact has the program had on youth?
The impact of RAISE is best seen in what students say and do after the program—asking sharper questions, speaking up, and spotting red flags they once missed. Teachers tell us it’s a shift in mindset: students start thinking critically about their digital lives and relationships. What begins as a lesson becomes a lens through which they see the world differently—more alert, more empowered, and less vulnerable.
What should I know about The RAISE Project if I'm a parent, teacher, teen, or donor?
Parent: RAISE helps your child navigate today’s digital world safely, teaching them to recognize manipulation and speak up. It gives you tools to continue these conversations at home.
Teacher: RAISE complements your efforts by building students’ critical thinking, digital literacy, and emotional awareness. It’s flexible, age-appropriate, and easy to integrate.
Teen: RAISE isn’t a lecture, it’s real talk. It helps you spot red flags, trust your instincts, and take control of your safety online and offline.
Donor: RAISE is a scalable, prevention-first solution to a fast-growing problem. Your support helps bring life-changing education to the frontlines of vulnerability.
